Our Commitment to Safety

The primary concern regarding youth programs for those under 12 is legal liability and child protection. Our 2026 Resolution addresses this by proposing a District-Led Model.

The Decentralized Liability Framework

Unlike programs managed directly by Evanston, RotaKids safeguarding is managed at the District level to ensure compliance with local jurisdiction laws:

  • Background Checks: Compulsory for all Rotarian liaisons.
  • GDPR & Privacy: No data of minors is sent to RI; it remains within the District's secure records.
  • Parental Consent: Standardized global templates for photo/video and event participation.

By adopting this model, Rotary International provides the Brand Vision, while the Districts provide the Legal Shield.
